Position Shift: Expert Says Trump Gave Putin a Final Chance

Trump

Political analyst and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that we are now at a critical juncture where the next step is being decided — a peaceful resolution or further escalation on the front line, according to Politeka.

He discussed this in his blog.

According to the expert, Trump once again expressed his dissatisfaction with Putin's actions, particularly with the continued missile attacks by the Russian army on Ukrainian cities. Despite numerous phone conversations, Russia keeps shelling Ukraine. Therefore, Musiienko says, Trump decided to cut Putin’s 50-day deadline short, as he already knows what will happen next.

“Trump clarified that he is now giving Russia 10–12 days to settle the war, and added that he is no longer interested in speaking with Putin. This is a strong statement, and indeed, a change in position. It’s another form of pressure, another ultimatum. For now, of course, these are political statements meant to shake Putin and push him toward engaging in real dialogue,” Oleksandr Musiienko commented.

As the expert notes, we now have several important new statements from Trump regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, a reminder from Senator Graham about sanctions against Russia’s allies, and the Kremlin’s reaction. In other words, he emphasizes, the key question is now being decided — whether there will be real peace talks or a continuation of the war.

“This is being done to show that Putin is being given a chance to enter into genuine negotiations, to cease fire, and to begin talks — potentially even at the level of a leaders' summit in Turkey. Otherwise, the war will continue, leading to a deeper crisis in U.S.-Russia relations and possibly further escalation,” Oleksandr Musiienko explained.
