He became one of the brightest figures in Polish politics: Sławomir Majman talks about the new president of Poland

Poland

Sławomir Majman, Deputy Director of the Institute of Foreign Policy and Security in Warsaw, explained who the new president of Poland, Nawrocki, is and what his policy towards Ukraine will be, reports Politeka.
He shared this on Ruslan Bortnik's channel.

"A few days ago, a star was born, because that's how you can define the attitude of the right-wing part of Polish society towards the newly elected president Nawrocki. If someone had asked me 6-7 months ago who Nawrocki was, I would have struggled to answer, because at that time, he was an outsider in politics, he was the director of the Institute of National Remembrance, but during this election campaign, he actually became one of the brightest figures in Polish politics," says Sławomir Majman.

According to him, Nawrocki is a representative of the far-right wing of Polish politics. For many years, the national-conservative party "Law and Justice," led by the right-wing politician Kaczyński for over 20 years, ruled Poland. Nawrocki, however, is far-right.

"And he is the heir of a very important political movement in modern Polish history – National Democracy, which was created in the early 20th century and is still a living political movement. National Democracy has always been anti-German, pro-Russian, and intolerant of all national minorities. The national democrats fought against Belarusians, Ukrainians, and Jews. And Nawrocki is the heir to this movement," explains Sławomir Majman.

According to the guest, Nawrocki will be difficult for the liberal government of Tusk and Ukraine. After all, as he reminds, Nawrocki promised not to let Ukraine into the EU, and in his first speech in parliament, he didn’t mention Kyiv at all.
