Attack on Crimea, amphibious landing: Expert assesses whether the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing a surprise for winter

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that all successful strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) not only damage Russia, but also destroy its propaganda and stereotypes about the so-called "second army," Politeka reports.
He shared this in his blog.

According to the expert, Sky News military analyst Michael Clarke is showing unprecedented optimism and claims that the AFU may launch strikes on Crimea in the coming months. Clarke, he continues, points to Ukrainian strikes on a number of radar stations and air defense facilities on the Crimean peninsula, suggesting that the AFU might take advantage of these gaps to launch a major attack before winter — an airstrike, a naval landing, or even a strike on the Crimean (Kerch) Bridge.

“I wouldn’t want to comment on specific plans, possible landings in Crimea or anything like that, but I do believe that some plans may indeed exist. Without a doubt, the AFU and our special services know how to surprise — and here, I agree with Clarke. The AFU has demonstrated this repeatedly. And I think they’ll prove it again,” – Oleksandr Musiienko commented.

He also notes that Clarke writes about how Ukrainians understand the impact such surprises have not only on the frontlines, but also on how the West perceives the situation in Ukraine. According to Musiienko, this is truly important in countering Russian propaganda about the situation at the front and in shattering the stereotype that Russia has more resources and capabilities.

As an example, he cites the shift in Donald Trump’s rhetoric after Ukraine and the EU provided him with a detailed account of the real situation — including the successful Ukrainian strikes that have caused Russia significant problems.

“When attention is focused only on the negative — where the enemy had some tactical success, made slight advances, or where we experienced certain problems, while Russia continues to terrorize the civilian population — it creates an atmosphere of hopelessness. But here, we have clear and concrete facts laid out, available for review. In this, Clarke is absolutely right,” – Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
