“‘They will not be civilian targets’: an expert explained how Ukraine is persuading Trump to give us Tomahawks

Tomahawk

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko said that while Zelensky and Trump are negotiating over Tomahawk missiles, new launch platforms have timely appeared in the United States, reports Politeka.

He discussed this in his blog.

According to the expert, American — and other — media outlets are publishing information with photos and video footage of experimental mobile launch platforms for the Tomahawk, which can reportedly fire up to four missiles at once and quickly leave the area to avoid enemy traps. In his view, this should even accelerate the transfer of these missiles to Ukraine, since the launcher is new, possibly still in the testing phase, not everything is fully refined yet, and therefore it needs to prove itself under real combat conditions.

“And where else can the U.S. now test this in combat conditions if not in Ukraine? The test range is Russia — thousands of kilometers of range. More than enough to try different distances, different latitudes, North, South, East, to try striking targets and delivering appropriate strikes,” Oleksandr Musiienko emphasizes.

Meanwhile, Musiienko notes, Zelensky has said that if Ukraine receives Tomahawks, they will be used exclusively against military targets on Russian territory; civilians must not be harmed. Incidentally, he adds, it is worth noting that Trump wanted to consult with the Ukrainian side about targets for the long-range missiles — apparently he has already received answers to most questions.
“The Ukrainian leader says these will not be civilian targets. Obviously, this concerned the U.S., so that later Putin would not scream that something civilian was hit, even though we do not strike those. And this issue has been discussed more than once, which is why President Zelensky keeps stressing it,” Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
