Budapest or Tomahawk: an expert explains how Trump plans to put pressure on Putin

Trump

Political technologist Mikhail Sheitelman said that while the Kremlin is coming up with various excuses, Trump will juggle a meeting in Budapest and Tomahawk missiles to put pressure on Putin, Politeka reports.
He discussed this in his blog.
According to the expert, after media reports that Russia had not changed its position and therefore Rubio would not push the leaders’ meeting further, an article appeared in the Daily Express claiming that, it turns out, Russian spy Bezrukov advised Putin not to fly to Budapest because the United Kingdom is planning to eliminate him during the meeting with Trump.
“To me it all looks like this: Putin apparently got scared to go to Budapest — they’ll shoot him down over Poland or force his plane down, so you’ve got to prepare some excuses just in case. And what’s the excuse? Bezrukov said that in Budapest the English will kill him, it’s obvious, and you can explain to Trump: ‘Bro, I was going to go, I had as many as two whole suitcases of peaceful initiatives and peace plans, but the English…’ ” comments Mikhail Sheitelman.
Overall, he reasons, the whole story about scheduling a meeting in Budapest and then cancelling it is also a means of putting pressure on Putin. As the expert reminds, previously Trump applied pressure by ignoring him, by aiding the Ukrainian Armed Forces with strikes on Russian refineries, and by constant daily insults directed at Putin, and recently he even said that Ukraine could win, although he doesn’t know — but who knows.
“So this made-up meeting in Budapest is also a hook. Come on, Volodya, spin, dance something, do a little show so Trump will come to that meeting — you were given a bait. Come on. There’s a stick — that’s the Tomahawk, and there’s a carrot — that’s the meeting in Budapest. Well, what do you want? A meeting in Budapest? Fine. No? Tomahawk. Now bring the right peace plan,” emphasizes Mikhail Sheitelman.
