“Trump really wants peace as soon as possible”: expert explains pressure in the negotiations

Trump

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that Trump’s statements about being disappointed in Zelenskyy are a form of pressure regarding the peace plan, but this pressure will inevitably be applied to Russia as well, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his blog.

According to Trump, the expert says, peace proposals have been agreed with Putin, but he is disappointed with Zelenskyy because the latter allegedly did not review the document. From this it follows, he emphasizes, that after the five-hour negotiations between Vitkoff and Kushner with Putin, certain points were indeed edited.

“According to Trump’s version, the members of the negotiating team from the Ukrainian side are supposedly satisfied with what is written there, but the president is not; he allegedly has not even reviewed the contents yet. This is creating tension. So far, the scales of Trump’s disappointment in the negotiation process are, unfortunately, tipping toward Ukraine. Earlier he said he was disappointed in Putin; now Trump says he is disappointed in Zelenskyy,” Musiienko states.

In the expert’s opinion, Trump’s claim that the delegation is satisfied while the president has not yet read the document looks like an attempt to drive a wedge, so that we start figuring out whether this is sabotage or someone acting against the president’s decisions, since the negotiating team supposedly has its own views. But in reality, he notes, this is not the case, because the delegation acts according to the directives approved by Zelenskyy.

“Well then. Trump really does want peace as soon as possible. This is a position that will not change. Can he pressure Ukraine? He can. Will he? He might. That is also possible. Will certain European countries, sensing which way the wind is blowing, join Trump’s position? They, too, may add to the pressure on Ukraine — not direct, but indirect. But they will also pressure Russia, by the way, because Trump needs peace. And on this path there will be pressure on Russia and on Putin, given his enormous losses,” Oleksandr Musiienko concludes.
