Political technologist assesses whether Trump can pressure Putin into peace: "Only with the help of Chinese comrades"

China

Political technologist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that Russia will still reject the peace plan, so it's time for Trump to take the matter more seriously, particularly by involving China in resolving the issue, as reported by Politeka.
He shared this in his blog.

"The Russians are trying to quickly distance themselves from the peace plan. Peskov said that Putin is currently reviewing it and will provide a response. But what's interesting! I read their press, and from the headlines, it's clear that they're trying to present it as Zelensky's plan. They write: 'How will Russia respond to Zelensky's plan?' So, in their view, it's already considered Zelensky's plan. It's not the Russian plan, with our edits, not the Russian plan with our objections, but Zelensky's plan. Do you see the lie and manipulation here?" – Mikhail Sheitelman explains.

The expert also points out that the Russians claim the peace plan is a starting point for negotiations, but they are mistaken, because the starting point should be international law. That is, he emphasizes, the starting point is the demand to withdraw Russian troops from all occupied territories, hand over all war criminals to trial, pay reparations, and return Ukrainian children and prisoners.

However, the expert concludes, Putin will not agree to the peace plan, and then all the cards will be in Trump's hands. It will be his time to act, particularly by introducing sanctions, as the US Treasury Secretary has mentioned. Trump, he reflects, seems to be starting to get an idea of what’s happening, as he congratulated children on Christmas and said he liked everything but needed to return to Russia, Ukraine, and China.

"This is where Trump somewhat accidentally let something slip. In a way, he said Russia, Ukraine, and China. In one breath, he mentioned these countries – Russia, Ukraine, and China. Because there is no solution without the Chinese. It’s impossible. If we’re not trying to destroy Putin and the Russian Federation, but rather temporarily freeze this war, it can only be done with the help of Chinese comrades. And now it’s time for Trump to start engaging with them," – Mikhail Sheitelman explains.
