“In this sense, I believe in Trump”: expert gives a forecast on how and when the Russia–Ukraine war will end

Trump

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman said that at some point Trump, together with Europe and China, will somehow force Putin to end the war, but for now Trump is only making strange statements about Russia supposedly wanting good for Ukraine, Politeka reports.

He said this on his blog.

“I believe that by the end of his term, say by some условный January 20, 2029, Trump really will be able to force Putin to stop the war. That’s what I believe. I’m not saying it will be on good terms for us. I’m not saying it will be tomorrow or even next year. But for some reason, in this sense, I believe in Trump. Not him alone, but together with the Europeans, together with the Chinese, together with whoever — in exchange for something, somehow… This is my political forecast: that Trump will be able to do this. But not because he’s great, rather because it will become something objectively inevitable,” Mikhail Sheitelman argues.

For now, he notes, what we have is a meeting between Zelensky and Trump at Mar-a-Lago, and the main thing is that our president was not sent home without lunch — the talks did take place. At the press conference before the negotiations, the expert notes, Trump did not issue ultimatums demanding that a peace plan be signed immediately, but he did say many strange things, for example that Russia wants peace, which is an absolute lie.

Overall, he reasons, it looked like an attempt to talk again, but already at the press conference after the talks, from Trump’s statements, we saw that everything was as always — and that this is incurable. The only plus, the expert emphasizes, is that the press conference with Putin in Anchorage lasted 11 minutes, while the one with Zelensky in Mar-a-Lago lasted 23 minutes — meaning Trump has a favorite now.

“Now all we can do is hope for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I hope that we will all sober up from this idiocy, degeneracy, and everything Trump told us. It turns out that all this time Putin was helping to develop Ukraine by supplying us with cheap energy resources — so congratulations to everyone,” Mikhail Sheitelman concludes.
