Political Analyst Explains What to Do If the US Withdraws from Peace Talks: “At This Stage, at the Very Least We Must…”

Donald Trump

Political analyst Andriy Horodnytskyi explained that American support is not just about weapons, but also political lobbying and protection. However, it’s already time to prepare for the fact that Trump’s attention will shift to other issues, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on the program “Personality with Serhiy Doyko.”

According to the guest, it came as no surprise to him that the U.S. might withdraw from the negotiation process, since Trump has always said he wants to end the Russian-Ukrainian war as quickly as possible in order to focus on domestic political issues and the Indo-Pacific region.

“Many people were disappointed because we’ve gotten used to being the central focus, and our inner egoist says that everyone must help us. I don’t deny that many do owe us, because we gave up nuclear weapons and shouldn’t end up with nothing in return. But at this stage, at the very least we must stop whining and start working. We must fix it in our minds that Trump will, to put it mildly, turn away from Ukraine,” Horodnytskyi explains.

However, he notes, Ukraine is not left alone — the EU stands with us, expressing words of support, and there are also decent contracts that will help develop our defense industry. In particular, the expert highlights Norway and Denmark, although he admits that this is still not enough.

“If the U.S. turns away, we’ll receive much less support in terms of political lobbying. Why is the U.S. so influential? Why have countries always cooperated with the U.S. and, in particular, purchased American weapons? Those weapons are very popular and quite high-quality, that’s true. But secondly, with those weapons comes a certain political lobbying, political control, and political protection,” Andriy Horodnytskyi emphasizes.
