By helping to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, Ukraine could gain the ability to intercept Russian tankers in the ocean: expert opinion

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that assistance with the Strait of Hormuz could open a path for Ukrainian drones into the Indian Ocean, where they could strike Russian tankers, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on his blog.
“Ukraine is ready to provide its experience, its solutions, its expertise, and its technological potential in order to help our partners unblock Hormuz and, in particular, in this way punish Iran,” Oleksandr Musiienko noted.
And, he adds, there are reasons to punish Iran: two Iranian missiles shot down a Ukrainian aircraft shortly before the full-scale Russian invasion, killing people, and Ukrainian experts were not even allowed to conduct an inspection. Later, the expert continues, Iran began supplying Russia with Shahed drones, which are now killing Ukrainians and destroying infrastructure and residential buildings, clearly putting the country on Russia’s side.
“Therefore, the idea that our drones could appear in Hormuz, and then move into the Gulf of Oman and the Indian Ocean to effectively destroy Russia’s shadow fleet there, is taking on new contours. It may indeed be implemented. It is fundamentally important to reach this framework,” Musiienko asserts.
He emphasizes that Ukraine is currently carrying out long-range strikes against the network of Russian oil refineries and export infrastructure, and that the next target should be Russia’s shadow fleet—it is time to address it as well.
