“‘They Will Keep Making One Mistake After Another’: Expert Explains What Could Happen If Russia Invades the Baltic States

Political strategist Mykhailo Sheitelman explained that Russia could attack NATO countries, and preparations should be made for that possibility, but nothing is lost — we would simply fight the aggressor together, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his blog.

According to the expert, a certain panic has now begun because before the full-scale war against Ukraine, Putin traveled to China, and now he is in China again. Russia could attack the Baltic states and issue them an ultimatum to surrender Ukraine. However, he emphasizes that this is the analysis of a political analyst, not a political strategist who synthesizes a new construct from past events.

“Putin had a plan to seize Ukraine. He had an army of nearly a million men for this purpose, a huge number of tanks, and all the rest. But his troops, as you remember, arrived carrying parade uniforms. At the very beginning of Trump’s term, he had the opportunity to secure ideal conditions for ending the war and then restart it after Trump’s presidency. But he refused because he thought he was tough. So these people will keep making one mistake after another. They are ordinary fools and losers. I agree that Putin may start a war against the Baltic states, Poland, or Finland. I do not believe that possibility is zero. The probability is fairly high — tens of percent. But it will not go according to their scenario. Our anti-drone specialists will be in the Baltic states faster than Russian troops will even have time to make a move,” explains Mykhailo Sheitelman.

According to him, this would be a completely different war because Putin has no reserves capable of advancing into the Baltic states. Therefore, the expert states, the situation is dangerous, and the Baltic states, Poland, and Finland should prepare, but nothing is lost: there would be a second front, and together “we would defeat the fascists,” and that would be the end of it.

“We would strike Russia from two sides already. Drones have already been flying toward Moscow from all directions — but not yet from every direction. They have not yet come from Finland, Estonia, or Latvia. Right now they claim they are flying with the permission of the Latvians. Well, then they will really start flying for real. If they start a war, then it will happen for real,” concludes Mykhailo Sheitelman.
