“Poland is in the same boat with us”: expert explains why Poles have really started to fear war

Poland

Political strategist Mykhailo Sheitelman explained that Poland now feels not only the threat of Russian drones and missiles entering its airspace, but also the threat of the pro-Russian “AfD” winning in Germany, which could open a second front, reports Politeka.

He spoke about this on his blog.

As the expert notes, after the Russian attack on a train carrying diplomats near the Polish border, Poland has effectively begun to enter the war. Poland’s Foreign Minister, he says, stated that NATO has an advantage over Russia in aviation and could destroy the remaining Russian oil refineries within six weeks. He also proposed shooting down enemy UAVs and missiles over Ukraine. According to the expert, such statements are unprecedented, and if NATO begins shooting down Russian drones and missiles over Ukraine, then perhaps it could eventually do the same over Russia.

“Look how far things have gone. In any case, I think this is a positive shift for us. What are the Poles afraid of? Well, apart from direct strikes, I think their concerns are also connected with certain victories by the ‘Alternative for Germany.’ If the ‘Alternative for Germany’ really comes to power in Germany, what will happen? Poland will be squeezed between Russian-controlled Belarus and pro-Russian Germany,” Mykhailo Sheitelman claims.

The leader of the AfD, he says, has already stated in an interview that all support for Ukraine should be stopped and that Kyiv should be required to compensate for a significant portion of the money spent. In other words, she says, they will even send us a bill. The Poles, the expert notes, understand that in such a case there would be a coalition of Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, and the Baltic states that would already be fighting on two fronts. All of this, he adds, would remind Poles of World War II, when they found themselves trapped between Nazi Germany and the Russian Bolsheviks. Nothing good would come of such a situation for Poland.

“So Poland has been in the same boat with us for quite some time. This is how Poland is gradually moving toward entering the war,” Mykhailo Sheitelman concludes.
