Truce or War: Expert Explains What Is Happening in the Middle East

Trump

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that the truce in the Middle East is fragile, but it needs to be stabilized in order to give peace a chance there and then move on to addressing Russia, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his blog.

“With Iran, things are not so simple in the sense that the truce is fragile. Iran is demanding a halt to military actions against Lebanon. And there is one country that could derail this truce — Israel. Because Israel has agreed to stop strikes on Iran, as have the United States, that’s clear, but not on Lebanon,” Oleksandr Musiienko notes.

That is, he explains, the international community was saving Iran, because strikes on critical infrastructure facilities must not be allowed, but there is also Lebanon. Yes, the expert states, this is a fight against terrorists, against Israel’s enemies, but carpet bombing and strikes on civilians must not be allowed, especially when the Belgian Foreign Minister, who was on a visit to Lebanon, was nearly killed near the embassy. In his opinion, certain principles must be upheld, because that is what distinguishes us from the enemy.

“Therefore, Iran says it will not open Hormuz and that the war could resume in the near future. Similar statements have already been made in the United States as well. Iran demands that Israel stop the destruction of Lebanon. Yes, there are pro-Iranian groups there, we understand that — I am not saying everyone there is innocent; there are also those who threaten Israel and others. But if we are talking about a ceasefire, then the situation in the Middle East must be settled in such a way that these carpet bombings are not used against Lebanon, to de-escalate tensions, and then a chance must be given to the peace process,” Oleksandr Musiienko explains.

Moreover, he notes, Trump and his entourage have confirmed that American corporations are already at the starting line, waiting for sanctions to be lifted in order to enter Iran’s oil and gas market, begin supplying their equipment there, and start drilling. Thus, the expert concludes, there is also an economic interest here, and for that, a chance for peace in the Middle East must be given, followed by moving on to resolving the Russian-Ukrainian war.
