A military expert estimated how many Tomahawk missiles would need to be launched: “Launching them from trailers — that’s not the same”

Tomahawk

Military expert Oleg Starikov explained that Ukraine, of course, could receive Tomahawk missiles, but the question is what would be used to launch them and how many would be handed over to us, Politeka reports.

He discussed this on his channel.
As the expert says, before the signing of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty the U.S. had land-based Tomahawk launchers; now they are only launched from submarines and Arleigh Burke–class ships. An atomic submarine, he continues, would not even be able to deploy in the Black Sea, and Ukraine will not be given destroyers, especially since the U.S. Department of War is shifting its focus from the European theater to the Indo‑Pacific. Yes, he concedes, it is currently possible to put Marine Corps systems on a land-based platform, but such a platform is not yet in mass production, so the question remains — from what would Ukraine launch Tomahawks?
“Therefore all of this looks more like information noise, information propaganda and simply information work. That’s correct. I believe this needs to be done as part of the information war,” Oleg Starikov states.
According to him, even if the U.S. were to quickly create a Tomahawk launcher now and transfer it to Ukraine, the question would be the number of missiles. To have a powerful effect, the expert asserts, a simultaneous launch of 100 missiles is needed.
“And to launch 100 at the same time you would need a squadron of Virginia‑ or Los Angeles‑class submarines, or a single Arleigh Burke destroyer — it carries up to 100 cruise missiles. Launching them from trailers — that’s not the same,” Oleg Starikov claims.
