Important to influence Putin’s psychology and that of most of Russian society: expert explains where strikes should be directed

Political analyst and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Musiienko, said that Ukraine must compel Putin to end the war through its strikes, and that this requires making the war as technologically advanced as possible, Politeka reports.

He shared these views on his blog.

“Our strikes must become more devastating for the enemy so that they have a real impact on Putin. It is important for us to use these strikes to influence the psychology of Putin and the majority of Russian society, because only the Russian dictator can decide what to do next with the war. At present, however, the pressure of circumstances is still not sufficient for him to wind the war down. That is why we need to keep working toward this by bringing the war onto Russian territory. Expanding the war onto Russian territory is not only about our strikes; it is also about the informational and psychological dimension of this war. It involves studying different population groups and carefully analyzing what kinds of losses they would have to experience in order to ultimately provoke them into taking to the streets,” Oleksandr Musiienko explained.

On the one hand, the expert argues, Russia’s entire defense-industrial supply chains should be disrupted; on the other, Ukraine must strengthen coordination with its partners regarding assistance. He also stressed that Ukraine should explain to its partners that it cannot wage an endless war aimed solely at weakening Russia while those partners continue preparing, only to discover later that they are still unprepared for a large-scale confrontation.

“The next issue is the front. Many people say the front has reached a stalemate, and that is true, but the enemy continues to resist and keeps attacking. If the enemy is not deprived of its ability to attack, and if we do not have sufficient capability to launch counterattacks, there may come a moment when the adversary finds an opportunity to break through, wear down our positions, exploit the situation, find a gap, and advance. In that way, it can continue putting pressure on us, just as it does through missile and drone strikes,” Oleksandr Musiienko warned.

According to him, solutions for the battlefield should be sought by drawing on the most effective technological innovations of this war, including drones, ground robotic systems, and similar capabilities. He also emphasized the need for greater synergy between the General Staff, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Defense, as well as changes in organizational structures with a stronger focus on technology and innovation.
