Carrot and stick: expert reveals how the US is forcing Putin to agree to a truce

Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musienko said that due to the inability to implement the goals of the war, pressure from Trump and difficulties in the economy, Putin is reducing his ambitions.
He said this in his blog.
“Putin has probably shifted his attention in the war against Ukraine to short-term tasks - consolidating the captured territories and strengthening the economy of the country, which is experiencing serious difficulties. This is CNN, citing intelligence data and other informed sources. The pressure of the Trump administration, which threatens new sanctions, and the weak Russian economy put Putin in a difficult position,” Oleksandr Musienko notes.
The talks, he says, also discussed the prospects for investment between the US and Russia after the end of the war, it all depends on what the White House can offer the Kremlin. At the same time, CNN intelligence sources warn, the expert emphasizes, that the Kremlin is counting on a tactical pause, during which the world's attention will be diverted to other issues, and then Russia will be able to combine military, economic, informational, and political levers to achieve the full range of its goals in Ukraine and beyond.
He also adds that it is indicated that the United States can put pressure on Russia to make concessions and at least agree to a 30-day ceasefire. As the expert explains, the first option is the lifting of a wide package of sanctions since 2014, and the second is the development of minerals on the territory of the Russian Federation and investments, this was discussed earlier, and now CNN confirms it
"CNN also confirms the information that we have discussed repeatedly and that was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Syrsky. The enemy cannot now achieve the tasks of the operational-strategic level. They can only dream of capturing Zaporizhia, Kherson, Dnipro, perhaps moving to Sumy, Kharkiv, but the enemy does not have the forces, means and opportunities to implement these goals and tasks. Russia cannot do this today. And therefore, for them, it would be considered a huge victory to go a few kilometers and reach the administrative borders with the Dnipropetrovsk region, because there are not enough forces for more,” concludes Oleksandr Musienko.
