The war in Ukraine continues, in April the Russians captured slightly more territory than in the previous month, but the overall advance of the Russian troops has decreased.

A former employee of the Security Service of Ukraine reported that the Russians are currently experiencing problems with recruiting personnel, which may affect the future possibilities of the enemy's advance.

This was stated by a former employee of the Security Service of Ukraine, military expert Ivan Stupak.

"If in March there were 133 square kilometers that the Russian Federation captured. Now - 170. These are not super achievements. But they are still there. However, compared to November, when they had 700 square kilometers, the number of territories captured by the Russian occupiers has decreased six times," Stupak noted.

According to the expert, Syrsky a couple of weeks ago stated that the Russians could recruit 8-10 thousand per month.

Previously, it was 1 thousand per day. Western analysts and the press say that the Russians could recruit approximately 35-40 thousand soldiers per month for the war in Ukraine.

"But, in my opinion, this figure is not relevant. I am more inclined to Syrsky's figures. After all, there is a lot of evidence that indicates that the Russians lack live "meat". They are looking for it by force. If there were people, there would be no roundups in Moscow, the region, sanatoriums, sports complexes. On the eve, DeepState analysts reported that the Russians captured 175 square kilometers of Ukrainian land in April 2025. According to their data, most of the advance of the occupiers occurred at the beginning of the month," the expert said.
