Russia may launch a fierce attack against Ukraine on Easter: "There will be a turning point"

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys warned that the aggressor country Russia could launch a new possible attack against Ukraine on Easter.
Russia's Attack on Ukraine

According to the politician, the Sumy tragedy, when Russia attacked civilians on Palm Sunday, became a kind of incentive for the EU countries to take bolder steps.

However, the minister makes it clear that it is still unclear whether this incentive will turn into real political decisions.

“I have no doubt that Russia will do something even more terrible on Easter. Perhaps this will be a turning point when we say: okay, look, we need to tighten sanctions,” Budrys said.

He noted that if Europe fails to make significant progress on these issues and if the decision-making process stalls due to opposition from certain states, the EU may finally lose its role as a geopolitical player.

On Palm Sunday, April 13, Russian forces attacked the center of Sumy with ballistic missiles. One missile hit the university, and the second exploded above the street, as a result of which, according to the latest data from the State Emergency Service, 34 people were killed, including two children. 117 people were also injured, including 15 children.

In particular, the driver and almost all passengers of the trolleybus that was at the epicenter of the strike died.

The university, five apartment buildings, cafes and shops, the district court and other buildings were damaged.

The head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, reported that the Russians attacked the city with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles. From
