Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musienko said that after the conversation with Trump, Putin proposed to develop another memorandum, that is, the negotiations will drag on for a long time, Politeka reports.

He said this in his blog.

According to the expert, following the conversation with Trump, Putin said that Russia is ready to work on a memorandum with Ukraine, which, among other things, should include the issue of a ceasefire. That is, he states that a ceasefire, and then progress on other points, as proposed by Ukraine and Europe, is rejected, now it is necessary to prepare another memorandum, all this is postponed to June, but then Putin will say that something again does not suit him to continue the offensive.

“These are the results as of today. That is, the negotiations are ongoing, they are intensive, but they will be very long and so far with uncertain results. The quality of the results will depend on how quickly they can put pressure on Putin to stop the fighting, or on how quickly something will happen to him for physiological reasons, how quickly he will die,” explains Oleksandr Musienko.

Obviously, he states that the Russian troops are becoming more active in the summer period, they want to develop an offensive, enter the Dnipropetrovsk region, and also restlessly in the Toretsk area, in the Lyman direction. Therefore, the negotiation process, the expert emphasizes, also depends on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on how successfully they will stop the enemy, and on how European partners will help them with weapons.

“Our path to peace is very long, so the struggle will continue. The war will last at least until mid-autumn this year, most likely. And then it is also unclear, maybe even longer, it is difficult to say here. It may stop at certain stages, and then resume again,” concludes Oleksandr Musienko.
