Russia will try to negotiate in the context of its large-scale offensive, - political scientist

Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik explained that Russian shelling is preventing Trump from negotiating, but Russia is also going to combine the peaceful track with its offensive, Politeka reports.
He wrote about this in his blog.

As the expert explains, Ukrainian drone strikes do not have such a horrific effect, there are no mass deaths of civilians on Russian territory, but 2-3 nights of missile and drone shelling of Ukraine lead to the death and injury of dozens of people. And Trump, he states, looks at all this not from the point of view of humanism, but from the point of view of negotiation technology, which is why he criticizes Russia, calls Putin crazy.

"Trump believes that all this complicates the negotiations, makes it more difficult for him to reach an agreement with Putin. After all, how can you negotiate with a person who is now killing civilians? This is how I explain it from Trump's side. He believes that Putin could be patient and postpone for some time, at least while negotiations are ongoing, any aggressive actions against Ukraine," explains Ruslan Bortnik.

According to him, this is what concerns the form, but in essence - Ukraine has submitted its proposals to the American side, as Keith Kellogg reported, now everyone is waiting for the Russian memorandum.

In addition, the expert reminds, the spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said that this memorandum will also contain specific deadlines, which is reminiscent of the Minsk agreements. And obviously, he states, the Russian side will insist on negotiations in Turkey in order to continue the proposals that were in Istanbul in 2022.

"And in the political circles of Ukraine, such a rumor is spreading very actively that Russia will provide a memorandum by the end of the week and immediately after that, on the 2nd or 3rd day, will begin a large-scale offensive on the territory of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. I am sharing this rumor because it is important, perhaps the lives and health of our fellow citizens depend on it. And there is an opinion that Russia will try to conduct negotiations in the context of its large-scale offensive,” reports Ruslan Bortnik.
