In the future, this may become grounds for impeachment – political expert on Trump's stance toward Russia

Trump

Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that Trump's weakness in the face of Russian aggression and his domestic policy in the United States may end badly for him, according to Politeka.
He shared his views in his blog.

As the expert emphasizes, the U.S. currently responds very differently to Iran and Russia. He reminds that while Trump openly threatened Ayatollah Khamenei with elimination, demanded Iran’s capitulation, and considered direct military intervention, nothing similar has been voiced toward Russia—there is no sign of U.S. leadership on the issue.

“The U.S. needs to deal with the Houthis in Yemen, launch strikes against them, decide whether to help Israel or not... Most likely, the U.S. won’t provide assistance, won’t get involved in the war—but we’ll see. Clearly, this is a convenient adversary to shift focus toward and to wage some sort of victorious war—one that would serve their position, allow them to demonstrate power, and distract from a rather complicated internal situation in the U.S.,” Musiienko explains.

The expert also reminds that a protest movement against Trump has spread across major cities in all states, particularly actively in California. Moreover, he says, Trump wants to dismantle the deep state, which contradicts the very nature of the U.S. and the principles on which the country was founded.

Musiienko adds that even within the Republican Party, many oppose Trump's policies—for instance, Congressman Don Bacon strongly opposed Trump's proposal to reinstate the G8 as long as Russia continues its aggression against Ukraine.

“In the future, this may become grounds for impeachment. You see, the Republicans are approaching the upcoming midterm elections. They understand perfectly well that it is Trump’s actions that will be evaluated—particularly by Republican voters. And those controversial moments, situations, and decisions that have occurred won’t be met with enthusiasm by everyone within the United States. So the question really remains open,” Musiienko concludes.
