Expert Assessed Whether Trump Will Provide Ukraine with Patriot Systems: "He Says for Now It's Too Expensive"

Political expert and military serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that Trump is still considering whether he can provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot system, but Ukraine will receive interceptor missiles, Politeka reports.
He shared this in his blog.
In recent days, the expert notes, we’ve heard Trump criticize Putin, but words don’t change the reality—Russia continues its terrorist attacks, launching a record number of drones at Ukrainian cities and firing missiles, while, as many media outlets report, Ukraine is not receiving the necessary number of interceptor missiles.
"In this context, there’s also news about the Patriot system. Trump commented on the issue and said that Ukraine does indeed need Patriot. He is studying the matter because it is very expensive," Oleksandr Musiienko noted.
According to the expert, Bloomberg reported that in the 2026 budget plans, the U.S. intends to quadruple the production of Patriot interceptor missiles—this is a good sign. He continues, saying that Bloomberg also noted the decision is motivated by the need to protect U.S. interests and military bases in the Middle East and around the world, but that Ukraine also needs these missiles.
"This rationale behind increasing funding and production is clearly positive for us. At the very least, it indicates that supplying Patriot missiles to Ukraine is part of the 2026 plans. Undoubtedly, this is a good signal for us. We must understand that the war is ongoing, and threats will remain even after it ends. We will definitely need to strengthen our air defense and anti-air shield as much as possible. I think there's no doubt about that—but for now, Trump says it's too expensive," Musiienko concluded.
