There Are More and More Wars in the World: Expert Assesses How Long Peace Between Cambodia and Thailand Will Last

Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that there are more and more wars erupting around the world, some of which show no signs of ending, while others flare up and die down intermittently—like the situation between Cambodia and Thailand, reports Politeka.
He shared his thoughts on the matter in his blog.
According to the expert, there was recently a high-profile story about Ukrainian tanks in Thailand being ready to advance on Cambodia. He explains that back in 2013, Ukraine signed a contract with Thailand to supply 49 Ukrainian-made T-84 tanks. It’s likely that all the tanks were delivered, and these tanks were then deployed to shell Cambodian forces near the Preah Vihear temple complex.
According to Sheitelman, if this war had escalated, Russia would have clearly supported Cambodia, while Thailand would have fought using Ukrainian tanks and American aircraft. Interestingly, he notes, Trump immediately got involved, worked toward reconciliation, and the hostilities between Thailand and Cambodia stopped—just like they did between India and Pakistan. Apparently, he’s very eager to win a Nobel Peace Prize.
“Is it just me, or are there really more and more wars in the world? Or have we just started paying closer attention to them? My answer: yes, there are more and more wars in the world. Unfortunately, the world is heading into chaos, and if we don’t act, this will continue. We see no end to the war between Ukraine and Russia; we see no end to the war between Israel and Hamas. The war between Israel and Iran is probably just on pause—just like the one between India and Pakistan. And now we have Thailand and Cambodia added to the list. More, more, and more. And soon, this could very well be called a world war,” concluded Mikhail Sheitelman.
