“As many Russian troops as possible must be ground down”: a soldier spoke about the situation in Pokrovsk

Sniper Konstantin “Ded” Proshinsky explained that the enemy is trying to push through the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in certain areas along the front, and described what is happening in particular in Pokrovsk, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on the program “Dialogues” with Ruslan Bortnyk.
“We all perfectly understood that the pressure would naturally keep increasing toward the end of the year. There is a certain symbolism that both the Russian leader and the Russian troops periodically use. By the end of the year, the Russian army hasn’t achieved anything truly strategic. The battles are drawn-out; there’s no breakthrough of the front anywhere. As I said before, there won’t be breakthroughs, but there will be pressure in certain areas — as we’re seeing now, for example, in the Zaporizhzhia direction,” said Konstanin “Ded” Proshinsky.
Naturally, he notes, the Kremlin wants to present some kind of victory to its audience, and the most vulnerable area is the Pokrovsk direction — something that’s been obvious for a long time. According to the soldier, there is a Russian grouping of about 150,000 troops there; they want to capture Pokrovsk by New Year’s, present it as a victory, and move toward the Sloviansk–Kramatorsk agglomeration. At the same time, the enemy is also trying to press the AFU in Kupiansk, but the situation there is somewhat better.
In general, the guest of the program notes, it’s impossible to say what is really happening in Kupiansk and especially in Pokrovsk — there’s no stability; the situation changes every hour: in the morning it’s one thing, in the evening another, tomorrow something else again. The enemy may have entrenched themselves, then been driven out. According to him, while the dynamics in Pokrovsk may currently seem negative, on certain days about 7 km² have been liberated, while the entire city of Pokrovsk covers about 30 km.
“At first, quite a large number of small groups infiltrated the area. They didn’t engage in combat but waited for the next small groups to come in; then they joined together, tried to avoid fighting, moved from house to house, and a certain buildup occurred. Naturally, it was quite difficult to eliminate that buildup in the first days. Now there’s a large-scale liquidation of the orcs underway at this stage. I try to look at things practically since the beginning of the full-scale war, and I perfectly understand that we may well have to withdraw from Pokrovsk. But our task at this point is to grind down as many Russian troops as possible — as it was in Bakhmut, as it was in other cities,” explained Konstanin “Ded” Proshinsky.
