“There are three ways to recruit a person”: a serviceman explained how the Kremlin finds its agents

Serviceman Sviatoslav Dubyna stated that Ukraine’s real problem is not even the external enemy, but the internal one, and assessed the effectiveness of countering such agents, Politeka reports. He spoke about this on the “7 Steps” channel.
On the one hand, the serviceman notes, there are obvious enemies—agents of influence who have been recruited and work in the interests of the enemy, in the interests of Russia. As we know, he states, there are more than enough of them within government bodies; sometimes special services detect and detain them, but these are certainly not all of them—there are many more.
“Those who have done operational work know that there are three ways to recruit a person. The first is kompromat—that is, if you have compromising material on someone or certain leverage to force them to cooperate with specific services. The second is ideological. We have many such people; you don’t even need to pay them to recruit them—they willingly work with the enemy, seeking comfort in the ‘Russian world.’ And the third method is financial motivation: either money or certain assets, perks,” explains Sviatoslav Dubyna.
In addition, he says, there are Ukrainians who consciously or unconsciously work for the enemy based on their own motivations. In other words, the serviceman explains, these people are effectively engaged in looting—what used to be corruption, but during wartime becomes looting in their own interests.
“Unfortunately, there are enough such people in government bodies. And we are paying in blood to filter such individuals out of the authorities,” Sviatoslav Dubyna concludes.
