The West is not ramping up weapons production because it doesn't believe Russia will fight to the end: expert opinion

Military expert Oleg Starikov explained that the West lacks sufficient capacity to produce large quantities of weapons and, for some reason, believes that Putin will surrender, Politeka reports.

He discussed this on his own channel.

"Does the West have the range and quantity of weaponry necessary for us? Are they capable of producing new weapons at such a scale to support the intensity of combat operations? No. They don’t have it. The British press has written about the quantities — how much all of Europe produces compared to the Russian Federation. These are figures from The Economist, The Guardian," noted Oleg Starikov.

And even this data from the media, the expert claims, is reliable — it is quite possible to gather this kind of intelligence. As he explains, there are even small intelligence indicators, such as electricity consumption, from which one can determine how many machines are running, and so on.

According to the expert, it is difficult to obtain such information about weapons production in North Korea — the territory is completely closed off and factories are underground. It is also hard to find such data in Iran and Israel. But in Russia, he says, this is easy to determine, as it is in NATO countries.

"But for some reason, in the Western world, the prevailing belief is that Putin and the Kremlin towers will get scared and surrender. For some reason, that’s just how it is. And the alternative view — that Russia will fight to the end — simply isn't being considered. That’s why I’m deeply concerned about everything related to the escalation factor, the missile-nuclear triad. It worries me a lot," claims Oleg Starikov.
