In the Near Future – Either April 20 or 30 – Everything Will Be Decided, Says Military Expert on War and Negotiations

Military expert Oleg Starikov stated that by April 30, it will be decided what lies ahead – a ceasefire, negotiations, and a peace agreement, or an escalation of the war, reports Politeka.

He shared this on his channel.

According to the expert, the fate of the line of contact and the end of hostilities is being determined through negotiations. As he recalls, this was just recently discussed in Paris, and before that – in Riyadh, while Secretary of State Rubio warned that they would wait a few more days, and if nothing changes, the U.S. will exit the negotiation process and move on to other matters.

"This means that from April 10 to 20, the fate of peace on the European theater of war is being decided. And, in principle, the exact location of the line doesn’t matter. It implies the creation of a 40-kilometer buffer zone – 20 km on each side. What we’re currently seeing in terms of military action mostly concerns the gray zone. There’s a red zone, a blue zone, and a gray zone – this is the gray zone. So, I believe that in the near future – either April 20 or 30 – everything will be decided. Either escalation or de-escalation," Starikov said.

As for the combat operations, he explains that military command plans everything at the beginning of the year – the army has a plan for the winter campaign, and now for the spring, and then for the summer if hostilities do not cease. If they do, the expert continues, this would be the first stage. The second would be a ceasefire, and the third – a peace agreement, which Trump and his team are currently working toward.

"It’s possible that fighting could be suspended in some areas of the front. That’s one option. For example, on the southern front – Zaporizhzhia, Pokrovsk – they could stop, and in the northern direction, above Pokrovsk, negotiations could take place. Or vice versa: from the north to Pokrovsk things could pause, and there could be active fighting in the south. That’s also possible. So, there’s not much time left to wait," Starikov concluded.
